With a 5-3 lead, Florida Memorial kept putting runs across, and the big hit came off the bat of Andy Ruiz, who finished 2-5, with two RBI's which were collected on his base hit in the third. Ruiz later scored in the inning, making it an 8-3 deficit for the Cougars.

Sophomore Will Kirby started for Clearwater, and exited after three innings, allowing seven earned runs, yielding ten hits, and striking out one. Kirby is now 2-6.

Clearwater kept the bats alive in the bottom of the third, as junior Noel Thomas hit an RBI double to score Reidy, making it an 8-4 game. The Cougars left the bases loaded in the inning.

Edwards, Reidy, and Thomas each had two hits in the contest.
