Cougars win two in a row

Friday night Clearwater Christian hosted the College of the Bahama's in a non-region game. The College of the Bahama's held the lead for the majority of the first half, but the Cougars took a 35-33 advantage on a three by Austin Swierenga and then added three more on a three point play by Erik McRae right before the half ended. CotB tied the game at 40 early in the second half but the Cougars never relinquished the lead. Colin DeHate's lay-up late in the game gave the Cougars an 85-77 advantage, and then free throws down the stretch by Erik McRae and Jonah Dew endured the win.

The Cougars had a balanced scoring attack with all five starters scoring double figures. Jonah Dew's 24 led the way, followed by Brian Horrach with 17, Devin Paularinne with 16, Erik McRae with 14, and Colin DeHate with 12. Colin and Jonah each had 9 rebounds followed by Brian and Devin with 7 a piece. Brian Horrach also had 6 assists.

The Cougars will be at home on Tuesday night against South Region opponent Florida Christian College.
