Couagrs drop first game of 2013.

The Cougars took the floor at home on Saturday for the first time in almost a month against the Eagles from Trinity Baptist. The first ten minutes of the half saw the Cougars stay with in striking distance, but a late run by Trinity Baptist and a sluggish offense had Clearwater at a 25-42 disadvantage at the break. In the second half the Cougars came out and played good basketball, but they could not narrow the margin below nine. The final deficit was 18 points with a 61-79 score.

The Cougars were led in scoring by Erik McRae's 20 including four baskets from behind the arc, Erik also led the team with 7 assists. Brian Horrach and Devin Paularinne added 14 each. Devin posted a double-double with his 10 rebounds, Jonah Dew added 7 rebounds, while Colin DeHate and Austin Swierenga each had 6. The Cougars will go on the road Tuesday to take on Regional opponent Trinity College.
