No Rebound Against TBC

On Monday, the Lady Cougars returned to campus to prepare themselves to turn around the season after a tough beginning. Coming into the game, it was clear that they would have to play mistake-free to overcome a talented Trinity Baptist team. Trinity entered the game with a 10-3 record against NCCAA and NAIA opponents to go along with a few exhibition losses to NCAA I teams.

The game would be a tale of two halves. In the first half, the Lady Cougars were able to neutralize TBC's size advantage through hustle and a valiant effort in keeping the Eagles off of the offensive glass. As a result, the halftime score was 28-28.

In the second half, TBC flexed their muscle as they dominated the boards, collecting an eye-popping 16 offensive rebounds in the second half. The Lady Cougars were able to hang around for a short period, but the Eagles proved to be too much as they took the NCCAA II South Region match up 70-53.

For Tiffany Pack, it was a record night as she scored 23 points on a CCC single-game record 7 three point baskets in 11 tries. Tori Hale added 18 for the Lady Cougars.

For the Eagles, Nicole Collins stuffed the stats with 29 points and 15 rebounds including 10 offensive boards. Anasia Hughes and Valeria LeLand added 13 points each for Trinity.

The Lady Cougars now fall to 1-8 on the season and 1-1 in the NCCAA II South Reagion. They return to action at Webber International University on Tuesday, January 15. Tip-off is set for 5PM.
