Cougars Get First Home Win of the Season

(11/30/12) The Cougars took the floor last night for the first time in 13 days, against the Eagles from Toccoa Falls. The majority of the first half was an up tempo game with the teams exchanging baskets. At the 4:30 mark of the first half, the Cougars had a 39-38 lead, and then Clearwater went on a 16-8 run to finish the half to take a 55-46 edge at the break. The second half saw the Cougars extend their lead to as much as 25 points and eventully finish with a 111-90 win over their South region opponents. The win marked the first at home for the Cougars in the 2012 season and ended a three game slide. The Cougars go on the road Tuesday to take on Pasco-Hernando.

The Cougars were led in scoring by Tristan Shore's 29 points. Tristan also had 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Brian Horrach and Grant Touma each added 18 points. Grant led the way on the board with 11, and Devin Paularrine contributed 7. Erik McRae continued his distribution of the ball with a season high 13 assists. Philip Tarcza and Trevor Palm each scored their first collegiate points in the game, with Philip putting up 8 and Trevor with 3.
