Bucklin Named NCCAA Player of the Week

Clearwater Christian College athlete, Richelle Bucklin, was named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Player of the Week for the week of November 5, 2012.

According to the NCCAA website, “Richelle Bucklin, senior middle hitter from Clearwater Christian College, led her team in a solid victory against Webber International University (NAIA). Webber was a tough opponent, currently tied for first place in their NAIA conference. Richelle had another outstanding match, despite the fact that the CCC starting setter was not able to play. With a backup setter, Richelle led all players with 25 kills and a 36% hitting efficiency. She averaged 6.2 kills per game. Defensively Richelle had 2 blocks and 13 digs. Richelle recorded another double/double for the match with her 25 kills and 13 digs, leading Clearwater to a win over Webber: 25-23; 23-25; 25-22; 25-21.”

Athletic Director, Mike Touma, said, “It is great to see Richelle be honored as Student Athlete of the Week. Her hard work and effort is a good example for all Cougar athletes.”
