Cougars Win NCCAA South Regional Championship


The Cougars captured the 2012 NCCAA South Region Championship with a solid three set sweep over Trinity College of Florida, 25-14; 25-21; 25-18. The Cougars showed strength and composure as they went up against a very solid opponent in Trinity College. Senior, Richelle Bucklin dominated play at the net finishing with 21 kills while Amanda Bucklin contributed another 15 kills. Amanda Ison led the defense with 14 kills. Kim Ponce, who came in as setter for the tournament, had 12.3 assists per game and did an outstanding job running the offensive attack. With the win the CCC team secures a place at the NCCAA National Tournament to be held at the Kissimmee Civic Center, November 8-10, 2012.
