Cougars Finish Undefeated in Region Play

(10/13/2012) The Clearwater menís soccer team finished atop the South Region following a convincing 3-0 victory at home over Trinity Baptist College. The Cougars dominated possession and scored two goals in the first half of a one-sided affair. Brian Chidarikire found the back of the net for the second straight game after being played through by fullback Ben Holmes in the 12th minute. Freshman Lewis Tuininga added to the lead 13 minutes later.

Drew Custer would give the Cougars a third goal 7 minutes into the second half after beating the keeper at the near post. Clearwater would continue to press but could not add to their 3-0 lead. Trinityís keeper would save a penalty taken by Riley Tuininga, whose header was denied by a hand-ball on the goal line.

Clearwater enters the South Region Tournament as the top seed and will play the winner of Toccoa Falls and Trinity Baptist on Saturday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. in Toccoa Falls.
