DeRosse Scores Brace in Cougarís Second Straight Victory

Clearwater put together their biggest offensive output of the season in a 6-1 win over the College of the Bahamas Saturday night. The Cougars dominated possession throughout the opening half, wearing out the Caribs while getting goals from Brad Cole and James Sikes. Many other chances went begging as CCC hit the post and missed just wide several times.

The College of the Bahamas got on the board four minutes into the second half following a brilliant strike after a miscue in the Cougar defense. Clearwater regained the momentum six minutes later as goalkeeper Garrett Hollenbach got Anthony DeRosse in behind the opposing defense with a punt. DeRosse finished with a deft touch around the keeper and a defender. The Cougars would score twice more in the next three minutes. Chad Broussard scored for the second straight game after getting put through on goal on the wing. DeRosse then added another, calmly placing a cross into an open net. Sean Tierney closed out the scoring after capitalizing on a turnover from the Bahamasí keeper.

The Cougars look to ride the momentum from their two wins this week into a rescheduled match with Florida College in Temple Terrace on Monday.
