Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated, Now 10-0

The Lady Cougars teed it up against the Suns from Florida Christian College on Thursday evening at Glen Oaks Park. The outcome was never in any doubt as Clearwater rolled to an 8 goal victory.

Sophomore, Rebecca Farrell scored the games opening goal when she got behind the Suns goalkeeper and passed the ball into an empty net. Tori Hale and Katie Mills would also score in the first half giving the Lady Cougars a 3 goal lead at halftime.

Leah Zwiers scored three straight goals in the second half to double the halftime lead. Leah then added an assist to her record when she set up her sister, Anna, for the game's seventh goal. Grace Thomas scored the eighth and final goal of the game in the 79th minute just seconds before the referee called the game due to lightning.

The Lady Cougars put in a solid defensive effort with tremendous play from Lydia Twigg, Whitney Redeman, Katie Cralley, and Katherine Helder among others. Freshman, Brooke Buffaloe started in goal for Clearwater and earned the teams 6th shutout of the season.

The Lady Cougars are back in action on Monday, October 1 at home against the Falcons of Florida College. The match kicks off at 3:00 p.m. at Glen Oaks Park.
