Lady Cougars Dominate Region Opponent

The women's soccer team faced off against NCCAA II south region opponent Toccoa Falls College on Friday night and did not disappoint in front of the home crowd at Glen Oaks Park.

Forward Tori Hale started the scoring early when she beat the Toccoa Falls Keeper in just the third minute of the game. Hale would add another goal before halftime, and the Lady Cougars took a two goal lead into halftime.

Hale and the Cougars picked up right where they left off when the whistle blew for the start of the second half. Hale added two more goals in the final 45 minutes. Kelsey Redemann also scored in in the second half, giving the Lady Cougars a 5-0 victory.

Coach Bates had this to say about the victory, "We were able to keep the pressure on their goal for most of the game, and our defense stepped up when needed to keep Toccoa off of the scoreboard." Goalkeeper, Kim Vilchez made 5 saves in the Clearwater goal to earn the Lady Cougars 5th shutout of the season.

The Lady Cougars will play next in Temple Terrace on Tuesday against Florida College at 7:00 p.m.
