Skyhawks 14 Hits Lead to Victory Over Clearwater

Point University, formerly Atlanta Christian College, won Tuesday's match up 15-1 in College Park, Georgia. Fourteen base hits and thirteen free passes led the Skyhawks offense on the afternoon.

The hitting brigade started in the second inning, and continued each inning for the remainder of the game. The Skyhawks put across two in the second, one in the third, four in the fourth, three in the fifth, and five in the seventh. They were led offensively by short stop Jake Cavender who went 4-4 on the day scoring three runs, and catcher Sean Finn who had four RBI's on the day.

The Cougars lone run came in the sixth as sophomore Chaz Russo knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Freshman Henry Turner took the loss, throwing four innings, and gave up seven runs on eleven base hits.

Freshman Nate Krouse went 2-3 on the day with a double, and junior Chris Caudillo reached base twice with a pair of walks.

The Cougars loss drops their record to 7-25. The Cougars will play next at Eckerd College on Monday night at 7 p.m. Currently the season series is 1-1 with the Tritons, with the Cougars winning the previous match up 3-1 behind Turner's complete game.
