Cougars Fall Short

In the semi finals of the NCCAA D-II National Basketball tournament, the fifth seeded Clearwater Cougars faced off against the one seed Kentucky Christian University. Clearwater came out strong, but after about six minutes, fell into an offense drought which allowed Kentucky to make a 12-0 run before Clearwater was able to get their rhythm offensively back. Kentucky led at the half 41-24.

Clearwater came out of the locker room with a focus and determination and cut the lead back to 9 points with ten minutes left in the game. But Clearwater would not get any closer. Kentucky defeated the Cougars 72-54.

Tiffany Pack led the scoring attack of the Cougars with 15 points. Tori Hale and Katie Jo Mullens each added 13 points for the Cougars.

With the thirteenth point that Katie Jo Mullens put in tonight, Katie Jo reached her 1000 career point milesstone in the three years she has played for the Cougars.
