Bears Roll Past Cougars

Truett McConnell scored sixteen runs on fifteen hits in game two of the three game set at Jack Russell Stadium.

The Bears jumped out to a six run lead in the first inning taking advantage of three Cougar errors, two walks, and two singles.

They never looked back adding two more in the second, and then putting eight runs across in the seventh.

The Cougars left ten runners on base throughout the game. They threatened in the first but left runners at second and third to end the inning, and then left the bases loaded in the bottom half of the second inning.

Starting pitcher Kyle Leja took the loss for the Cougars, throwing well for five innings, giving up seven hits, and striking out two.

Chuck Ghysels, starting pitching for the Bears, got the win on the mound, going six innings, and striking out ten Cougar hitters, keeping them off balance all game.
