Cougars Win To Advance to National Championship Game

The Lady Cougars defeated Lincoln Christian University in three straight sets to advance to the National Championship match. Clearwater continues to dominate play at the NCCAA II National Tournament without dropping a set. The game against Lincoln was a rematch of these two teams from the 2008 and 2009 final national championship match in which CCC won in five sets both years.

The Red Lions came out strong with an explosive attack from their senior All American Jamie McFadden and new freshman standout, Alisa Carson but could not counter the play of the Lady Cougars, who seem to be playing stronger in each match of the tournament. Senior captain Emma Kile continues to lead her team with 13 kills and 11 digs, while sophomore Amanda Bucklin added an impressive 12 kills to the offense, and setter Sarah Wild had 34 assists for the match.
