Cougars Bounce Back with Solid Win

After a tough five set loss on Saturday, the Lady Cougars bounced back to take St. Petersburg College 3-1. The Cougars were again led by senior middle hitter Emma Kile. Clearwater worked a new line up tonight and got off to a slow start dropping the first set 20-25. During the second set the Cougars changed their defensive sytem and began blocking the strong outside hitters for the Titons. Behind a balance offensive attack, CCC took the next three sets and the match. Emma Kile led all hitters with 26 kills followed by Richelle Bucklin with 11. On the defensive side, Sarah Wild led the team with 20 digs while Ison had 15 and Ponce added another 13 digs. Wild also set a good match with a total of 45 assists.

The Cougars are now 31-7 going into their NCCAA South Regional Tournament starting at home on Friday. The Cougars will play Piedmont Baptist at 4:00 p.m. and Trinity College of Florida at 6:00 p.m.
