Cougars Put Out The Fire

In front of a large and loud home crowd, the Lady Cougars took three straight sets from SEU to secure a solid victory at home on Thursday night. The Cougars, who had defeated the Fire earlier in the season, took charge of the match early and kept the pace throughout the match. According to Coach Denny, "Having the home crowd behind us was really important. They demonstrated great spirit and helped us sustain our momentum. It was our best fan support of the season."

The Clearwater team was led by sophomore Amanda Bucklin who scored a double/double with 12 kills and 10 digs for the match. Emma Kile added 11 kills, 9 digs and 3 aces while Amanda Ison led the defensive attack with 12 digs.

CCC is currently 24-6 and will play a home tri-match tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. against Lake Sumter Community College and at 8:00 p.m. against St. Petersburg College.
