Womens Soccer Wins Conference Opener


The Clearwater Christian College women's soccer team opened conference play at home on Friday with a 2-1 victory over Toccoa Falls College. Madeline Tewes got the Cougars off to a quick start scoring in the 5th minute of the game off of a pass from Katie Mills. Midway through the first half TFC evened up the score on a goal from Kallie Richards. Tied 1-1 at half-time, the game proved to be an exciting matchup. The Lady Cougars played better defensively in the second half, holding Toccoa Falls off the scoreboard. In the 68th minute, Madeline Tewes returned the favor to Katie Mills, who scored her second goal of the season, giving Clearwater a 2-1 victory.

The Lady Cougars will play their second NCCAA south region game when they host the Point University Chargers on Saturday at 6:15 p.m.
