Women's Volleyball Looking to Repeat

The 2011-2012 season promises to be another exciting year for the Lady Cougars. A solid core of returners will bring maturity to this year's squad and some new players will have the opportunity to contribute as well. The team will look to their two AVCA All-Americans, senior Emma Kile and junior, Richelle Bucklin to lead in the offensive attack, but several other players will add to the cougar arsenal. Junior Georganna Little, Amanda Ison and Sophomores Amanda Bucklin and Dana Medich will all contribute on offense this season. While Ison, Medich, and Ponce will also enhance the team defensive play.

The Lady Cougars plan to continue their winning tradition as new key players join the returning players from last year's squad. Sophomore Sarah Wild will return for a second season and looks to be the starting 5-1 setter. Other newcomers include Allie Averiett, Christen Johnson and Lauren Coulter. With another highly competitive schedule against several scholarship programs lined up, CCC will need to work hard to accomplish the goals they have set for the season. This year the team will begin a new Bible study in 2 Peter 1. The theme will be CCC: Cultivating Christlike Character, as they focus on verses 5-10.

Coach Denny's goal for the 2011-2012 season is to glorify God in everything, but especially on the volleyball court. "Every year, my prayer is that whether we win a national championship or not, above all else, we would glorify God and play our very best for Him. We want to use our sport for God's glory."
