Cougars Drop Second Game in Goshen DH

(3/4/2011) The home team continued their tough play into the second game against Goshen, once again getting an early lead that held until the later innings. The Cougars sent freshman Isaiah Marsh to the mound for his first college start, proving a great choice; Marsh did not allow a run until the 7th inning, and claimed seven strikeouts. Joel Felten continued his great day at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a walk and RBI. Victory seemed to be inevitable, but Goshen found their bats in the 7th, scoring 5 runs and taking the game into an extra inning that could not be matched by the Cougars. Clearwater lost the close battle 7-5. The team enters regional play next week Tuesday against Atlanta Christian, and Saturday against Toccoa Falls.
