The Cougars Down PCC 78-68

For the first time since 2004, The Cougars went into the Sports Arena of Pensacola Christian College and came away victorious with a 78-68 win. Pensacola was playing some of its best basketball of the season, as it had put together a 10 game winning streak going into the game.

CCC winning ways started early when it jumped out to a 35-12 lead against PCC and never trailed as it went on to split the season series with the NCCAA I rival. After an almost perfect start, the PCC crowd inspired the host Eagles to finish the half on a 20-5 run that closed the gap to 40-32 at the intermission. In the second half, the two teams traded baskets back and forth and PCC was never able to get closer than 4 points during the remainder of the game. Timely free throw shooting down the stretch by Brian Horrach, Troy Hadlock, and Todd Wahlberg gave the Cougars the winning margin of victory.

Todd Wahlberg led the Cougars with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Troy Hadlock chipped in 14 points, Brian Horrach 12, and Bryan Spears added 10 for CCC.
