Mr. Mark Bates

Coach Bates has worked with the men's soccer team for the past 4 years as the head coach. During his tenure, his teams have advanced to the National Tournament in 3 out of 4 years, finishing 4th this past year at Nationals with a record of 15-4-3.

Prior to coaching at Clearwater, Bates coached soccer on the high school level for nine years. During that tenure, his teams earned four state championships.

A graduate of Tennessee Temple University, Coach Mark Bates earned his B.S. in physical education. Coach Bates is also the Dean of Men at Clearwater Christian College. Prior to coming to Clearwater, he taught in a Christian school for fourteen years and also served as an assistant pastor and youth minister.

Mark and his wife Donna live in Oldsmar and have 3 grown sons, Philip, Thomas, and Andrew, each of who were soccer All-Americans while here at Clearwater.
