Men's Basketball Season Review (2012-2013)


The theme verse for the 2012-13 year was Ecclesiastes 4:12b, "A threefold cord is not easily broken." Before each game we prayed as a team while we held onto a three stranded cord that symbolized the ideal of playing hard, playing as a team, and playing in a way that brings honor to God. That was what we attempted to do each time we stepped onto the court. The season was a mix of exciting moments and disappointing results, but the guys played hard regardless of the circumstances. We faced some unique challenges, but always did it with hard work and a willing spirit. The Cougars finished the season with a 10-17 record.

The following awards were earned by members of the 2012-13 team:

Honorable Mention South Region: Erik McRae and Devin Paularinne

Second Team South Region: Brian Horrach

The Most Improved Player: Austin Sweirenga
The Best Offense Award: Brian Horrach
The Coaches Award: Devin Paularinne
The Leadership Award: Colin DeHate
The Most Valuable Player: Erik McRae
