Baseball Season Review (2008-2009) The 2008-2009 season was exciting for the CCC Cougars baseball team with several significant wins. Coach Ron Edson had the team pushing beyond their limits-a character development that paid off in the end.
Of the many notable wins during the 2008-2009 season, beating South Florida Community College in the bottom of the 7th inning was among the top. The Cougars also beat tough competitors Cedarville University and Goshen College in exciting games. Coach Ron Edson said, "Never playing 10 inning double headers was a significant event of the 2008-2009 season."
Graduating players include: Rob Copenhaver (Church Ministries), Doug Inman (History), Mark Wilson (History), Josh Carter (Bible), and Alex Parrish (History). Coach Edson named Josh Rebandt, Josh Carter, Luis Ramos, Joe Keen, and Doug Inman as exemplary athletes, both on and off of the field during the 2008-2009 season.
"This team has an abundance of talent. This team has shown schools of higher divisions what can be done when you apply yourself." (Coach Edson)
The team verse for the 2008-2009 season was Matthew 7:14, "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." | | Quick Links Home News Recognitions Recruiting Questionnaire Schedules and Scores Season Outlook Season Review Team Coach Team Photos Team Roster Team Statistics
Cougar Spotlight
Playing baseball as an intercollegiate sport is a gift from God. So many athletes' careers are ended after high school, but for some reason God has given me this opportunity. So, all the glory goes straight to Him. Through my experience at CCC, I've learned that there is a difference between being a Christian athlete and being a REAL, Christian athlete. more...It's a huge responsibility! My actions on the field should be just as Christ-honoring as when I'm in church. This can be tough especially in those heat-of-the-moment situations. However, this is an awesome, crucial time for my light to shine before men. I don't want to graduate with any regrets. After graduation, I want to know that I left everything on the baseball field, and that everything glorified my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. |
