Additional Experience Professor Irwin studied Vocal Pedagogy with James C. McKinney, the author of, "The Diagnosis and Correction of Vocal Faults," and student of William Vennard; and with Roy Samuelson, protegee of Ralph Appleman. She has also performed as featured singer in master classes held by Germone Hines, Sherrill Milnes, Horice Gunter, MargaretHarshaw and Ralph Appleman. Professor Irwin has engaged in private vocal study under the direction of Virginia Botkins, Virginia Zeani, Yvonne Ciannella, Lynda Poston-Smith, Vincent Russo and Elizabeth Wrancher.
Professor Irwin's operatic performances include the Countess in, Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro;" Fiordiligi in Mozart's, "Cosi fan tutte;" Mother in Menotti's, "Amahl and the Night Visitors;" and Dorabella in Mozart's, "Cosi fan tutte." In addition to opera, she performs as an oratorio soloist; and has been a featured soloist with the Orlando Pops Orchestra and in a variety of other performances in the Central Florida community. Professor Irwin is also a two-time winner of the Metropolitan Opera Competition for the State of Florida.
