Academic Support

Every college student is different; therefore, your educational experience will be unique. At Clearwater Christian College, faculty members are willing to meet with you at any time during office hours or by special appointments. CCC offers several academic opportunities for you to reach your fullest potential; not only if you need help, but also if you are excelling in your studies. In addition to the Alpha Chi tutoring organization on campus, specialized study skills courses are offered at no charge.

Above all, the faculty and staff of CCC are interested in helping you reach your fullest academic and spiritual potential. One of the benefits of Clearwater Christian College is the balanced combination of quality academics and sincere Christianity.

Campus Security

As a parent, your main concern is the safety of your student. At Clearwater Christian College, it is our desire to provide an atmosphere that is safe and secure, as well as comfortable for students. The campus, located on a small peninsula with limited and monitored access, has a security force working to protect the safety of all students. A 24/7 manned security station is located at the entrance to the College-there is only one way on to campus; therefore, entry and exit is secure and monitored.

With the added safety of surveillance cameras throughout the campus and well-lighted common areas, our armed security staff makes rounds every 4 hours, checking to see that all areas are secure. The head of security, with law enforcement experience, is dedicated to making Clearwater Christian College as safe as possible.

As a student, you can rest assured that your person and belongings will be safe and secure in your dorm. Each men's dorm is equipped with a lock that requires an entrance code. Unique codes are given to the residents of the room and they are not to be shared with anyone outside the dorm. Also, the ladies' units are locked with a key that is given to each resident (four rooms per unit). As in any situation where young people are living in close quarters, please be aware of your possessions and make wise choices about what items to bring to college.

In accordance to government requirements, the College provides an Annual Security Report online for all interested persons. This report outlines required procedures and past reports of crime on our campus. It has also posted its current Fire Policy for those interested as well.

The Florida Legislature has passed a law (as an amendment to the Ryce Act dealing with sexual predators and offenders) that requires Florida educational institutions, both private and public, to include sex offender registry information in new student and employee orientation and on the institutionís website. The web site can be located at https://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/offender/homepage.do. Their toll free number is: 1-888-357-7332. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this law, please contact CCC Security at 727-726-1153 ext. 216.

Computer Services

In today's computer-friendly world, you have come to expect certain technological advancements in an institution of higher learning. Clearwater Christian College strives to be on the cutting edge of current market trends and computer technology.

CCC has a redundant internet connection with the capacity for each student to have enough bandwith as necessary for classes, instant messenger chat programs, email, and classroom research. Wireless internet (Mac and Windows compatible) with a Hedgebuilders protection filter is available in all buildings and common areas on campus. If you want to email your family from the middle of the soccer field, you can do so! CCC also offers a portal that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. Through this intuitive portal, you can access general information, online class schedules, email, documentation, and school calendars.

Before you arrive at Clearwater, please download an anti-virus program (CCC recommends Microsoft Security Essentials) and an anti-malware program (CCC recommends Malwarebytes). Microsoft Office (Mac and Windows compatible) is offered by and accessible through the College at a discounted rate.

Most new computers will have the ability to work well on our network. We have no preference on brand or operating system.

Disability Services

In a constant effort to adhere to Romans 12:10 which states, "Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;" Clearwater Christian College has taken steps to ensure that all classes and campus buildings are accessible and manageable for physically and academically challenged students. We strive to meet the needs of all our students and make sure that they are receiving the best education possible.

Emergency Preparedness

The motto of the Environmental, Health and Safety Committee (EHSC) at Clearwater Christian College could be "Fundamental principles played out in specific situations." Due to the nature of an unexpected emergency, specific events cannot be foreseen, but the fundamental principles established by CCC apply in each emergency situation.

In the event of weather emergencies such as hurricanes or flooding, CCC has specific evacuation and protection programs designed with you in mind. The Chief of Security monitors inclement weather and potential severe storm warnings 24/7 in order to stay abreast of current weather conditions and take any action necessary. If a weather emergency does not merit evacuation according to governmental agencies, no evacuation will be ordered, but you will remain safe in your dorm. Should we decide to evacuate campus, an order will be announced to the student body publically and on the landing page of the CCC website. If internet connection to the main website is lost, information will be posted on an alternate, remote website that is directly linked to the main page. All decisions to evacuate campus are made with student safety in mind; information for a safe return will be made available as soon as possible.

In the event of a non-weather related emergency, the college has developed a First Alert text message warning system. Students, staff, and faculty will be notified immediately of the situation and will be given direction on how to respond. While it is difficult to plan against the irrational, we have taken the necessary steps to put warning systems, reliable security, and preventative measures into place.

Food Services

"Is the food good?" is an inevitable question on your mind. You will love the food at Clearwater Christian College! Prepared fresh for every meal, the hot food bar offers scrumptious choices for even the pickiest of eaters.

A cereal, peanut butter and jelly, and toast bar is always available. Flexible cafeteria hours have been crafted with student schedules in mind. In an attempt to service all students, the cafeteria is open approximately nine hours during the day.

Meal plans for resident students are purchased for 20 meals per week; commuting students may purchase a 5 meal plan or a block plan. When you enter Cathcart Dining Hall, you will swipe your card and pass through the meal line. All meals are served as all-you-can-eat. Choose from a salad bar, a hot food bar, a deli bar, a cereal bar, a soup bar, and much, much more!

I chose CCC because of the good education program and the godly environment. The small campus allows teachers to get to know the students individually and develop personal relationships with them. I love CCC! I'm surrounded by so many people who care for me personally, not only in my academics, but also in my spiritual life. I am vice president of my class and recently got nominated for vice president of my Greek. Being a class officer, I have a chance to help make an impact and get to help decide what the focus of our class is going to be. It has been exciting to be involved in planning our activities and meetings and to see God work in the lives of my classmates throughout the year and a half I've been here. In addition to my elected responsibilities, I am a student worker and a devotion leader (DL) for my unit. Working for Coach Whitaker and Coach Champion has been a blast! The tasks Coach Whitaker has given me have broadened my experiences, while being a DL has been a good experience for me to learn how to be a spiritual leader. I have learned a lot about myself and have been able to grow and be encouraged by my responsibilities.
